On October 8–10 of this year, the 2nd International Conference "Transformative Economy: Human Capital Development, Co-Creative Innovative Economy, Sustainable Inclusive Growth" was held at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Yerevan State University.
The conference brought together universities and research institutions with broad geographical representation. More than 40 renowned scholars from over 17 countries—including the United States, Canada, Brazil, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, India, and others—traveled to Armenia to take part in the event.
During the conference, over 75 presentations were delivered across seven thematic sections in both in-person and online formats. The three-day event also featured presentations from representatives of Armenia's public administration and financial sectors, as well as from leading international organizations, including the Central Bank of Armenia, the Ministry of Economy, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank. The keynote speakers included two Nobel Laureates—Professor Paul Krugman from Princeton University (Nobel Prize in Economics, 2008) and Professor Daron Acemoglu from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Nobel Prize in Economics, 2024)—as well as Professor Peter Nijkamp from Erasmus University Rotterdam, Vice-President of the Regional Science Academy, and one of the world's top 30 economists.
