Artak Piloyan, Acting Head of the Chair of Cartography and Geomorphology at YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology, PhD in geographical sciences and Assistant Professor, has been elected as a member of the Council of the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE).

The election took place during the 14th International Symposium on Digital Earth held in Chongqing, China.
This appointment represents a significant achievement not only for YSU but also for the scientific community of Armenia, highlighting the participation of Armenian researchers in the global processes of digitalization, geospatial sciences, and international cooperation.
"I received an unexpected letter from Dr. Changlin Wang, Secretary General of ISDE, informing me of my election to the Council of the International Society for Digital Earth. It is both a great honor and a serious responsibility to join a group that operates at the intersection of geospatial science, digital innovation, and international cooperation," said Artak Piloyan.
He also expressed his gratitude to Professor Josef Strobl from the University of Salzburg for his support in the nomination and for facilitating his active engagement within the international scientific community.
