Professors from the University of Lille (France) visited the Faculty of Geography and Geology at Yerevan State University. The delegation included Professor François-Olivier Seys, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Social Sciences, Geography and Planning; Professor Taniel Danielyan, Director of the Institute on Environmental Sciences; and Associate Professor Sandra Balescu from the Department of Geography.
The visit was arranged following the February 24–28 visit of Gor Aleksanyan, Deputy Dean and Head of Office at YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology, to the University of Lille. His visit, conducted within the framework of the Erasmus+ exchange program, involved delivering lectures and exploring potential avenues for academic collaboration.
During the visit, which took place from June 3 to 9, Dean of the Faculty Sargis Kelyan presented to the guests recent developments at the faculty, its strategic directions, and future plans, while also highlighting the faculty's achievements. The discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation, particularly the introduction of a joint master’s degree program in Geography, co-supervision of PhD research topics, and mutual academic exchange visits for both faculty and students for educational and scholarly purposes.

As part of the visit, Professor François-Olivier Seys delivered a lecture to YSU faculty members titled "Geography in France and at the University of Lille," where he presented the development and current trends in the field of geography in France and at Lille University, from both educational and research perspectives. He also answered questions posed by the faculty members. Associate Professor Sandra Balescu shared her insights and experiences related to the Erasmus+ exchange program, discussing challenges, solutions, and the importance of participating in such initiatives. Professor Taniel Danielyan outlined the foundations of the partnership, the progress made over the years, and the results achieved thus far.
In addition, a scientific and educational tour was organized for the guests to explore various regions of Armenia.
