On December 5, students of the YSU Faculty of Russian Philology, led by Dean Diana Gazarova, visited the secondary school of Dalar village in the Ararat province for a career orientation meeting.
The periodic visits to provinces of Armenia, initiated by the dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology, aim to organize lessons and quizzes for schoolchildren. This time they visited Dalar village school, where three alumni are currently students of the faculty.
The meeting began with welcoming remarks by Dean D. Gazarova. She then presented the educational programs of the Faculty of Russian Philology, the opportunities for students, and prospects for professional development.
The dean conducted an interactive lesson for the schoolchildren, during which she spoke about the current state of the Russian language and the linguistic changes occurring in parallel with the development of digital technologies and the internet.
Actively participating in the lesson, the schoolchildren shared their views on online communication and presented commonly used words and expressions typical of internet communication.
Afterwards, Ani Hovhannisyan, President of the Faculty Student Council, together with student volunteers, conducted a quiz dedicated to the Russian language, culture, and literature. The schoolchildren took part with great interest, and the most active participants received certificates and books.
Following the lesson, during a meeting with the school principal, Anahit Avetisyan, and the teachers, D. Gazarova expressed gratitude for their professional work in preparing knowledgeable and well-educated graduates, emphasizing that many of these graduates continue their studies in both the bachelor's and master's programs of the YSU Faculty of Russian Philology.
The meeting concluded with a discussion on future visits, upcoming open lessons, and opportunities for ongoing cooperation.
