On April 15, a scientific seminar titled "Russian Classics in Western Armenian" was held at the YSU Faculty of Russian Philology, bringing together lecturers and students interested in translation studies and intercultural communication.
Associate Professor at the YSU Chair of Russian Literature, PhD in Philological Sciences Ruzanna Ter-Grigoryan, delivered a presentation addressing the specific features of translating works of Russian classical literature into Western Armenian. She paid particular attention to issues related to the transmission of artistic style, realia, and authorial individuality.
Participants interested in the topic discussed the challenges of adapting classical texts to different linguistic and cultural environments, as well as the importance of translations in maintaining and developing literary ties between peoples.
Lecturers and students of the Chair of Russian Literature actively engaged in the discussion, asking questions and sharing their own observations.
Such academic events significantly contribute to the deepening of students' professional knowledge, the development of research skills, and the strengthening of the faculty's academic environment.
