Diana Gazarova, Dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology at Yerevan State University, delivered lectures for students at Palacký University Olomouc, Czechia, from April 13 to 17.
Since last year, the faculty has been actively cooperating with the Faculty of Arts at Palacký University within the framework of the Erasmus+ international program.
The cooperation has created opportunities for the active exchange of knowledge and experience. YSU students have the opportunity to gain academic experience in Czechia, while students in Olomouc become part of the academic life of the YSU Faculty of Russian Philology.
This was Gazarova's second visit to Olomouc. Her first visit, which took place in October 2025, focused mainly on presenting YSU's educational programs for international students. The latest visit was fully dedicated to intensive academic and teaching activities.
During the visit, lectures were delivered for undergraduate and graduate students at Palacký University. Taking into account the university's educational programs and the students' academic interests, the topics were agreed upon in advance with Czech colleagues. The lectures focused on the most complex issues related to teaching Russian as a foreign language.
As part of the visit, a literary seminar was also organized on the linguopragmatic features of the "camp prose" of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Varlam Shalamov and Sergei Dovlatov. Despite the complexity of the topic, the atmosphere of the class was notably warm, and the discussion developed into an open and substantive dialogue.
In May of this year, Czech colleagues from Palacký University are expected to visit YSU to continue and deepen this important professional and cultural cooperation.
