Professor Lianna Matevosyan of the YSU Faculty of Russian Philology's Chair of Russian Linguistics, Typology, and Communication Theory paid a working visit to the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) from April 29 to May 3.
The purpose of the visit was participation in a session of the permanent scientific seminar "Ecology of Russian Language in International Space: Issues of Norm, Variation, and Language Policy." Within the framework of the academic dialogue, participants discussed current issues in teaching Russian as a foreign language, questions of linguistic adaptation, as well as the role of the Russian language in the contemporary global cultural and educational space.
The seminar focused on issues of linguistic norm, intercultural communication, and modern approaches to teaching Russian as a foreign language in multilingual environments.
An important component of the visit was also a master class delivered by Professor Matevosyan for students of the Institute of the Russian Language at RUDN University. During the session, she presented her professional experience and methodological approaches and answered numerous questions from students.
The program also included cultural activities. Participants were offered a guided tour of Moscow, as well as attendance at a concert by the Oleg Lundstrem State Chamber Jazz Orchestra, which became one of the highlights of the cultural program.
Professor Lianna Matevosyan's visit marked another important step in the development of academic cooperation between Yerevan State University and RUDN University, as well as a significant platform for strengthening scientific dialogue between Armenian and Russian specialists in the field of Russian studies.
