An informational meeting titled "Come to PR" was held at the YSU Faculty of Sociology, bringing together students, academic staff, and prospective applicants. The event provided participants with an opportunity to become familiar with the public relations profession, the educational program, and the university environment.
As part of this year's "Come to PR" campaign, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Sociology also visited about 30 schools in Yerevan and various provinces of Armenia, meeting with prospective applicants and presenting the advantages of the educational program.
The meeting held at Yerevan State University was attended by particularly interested students from the visited schools. Six participants had already applied to the program.
At the beginning of the event, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Sociology Anahit Sahakyan presented the specific features of the educational environment, emphasizing in particular the importance of fundamental psychological knowledge in public relations as a key prerequisite for success in the field.
Head of the "Public Relations" educational program Nvard Melkonyan highlighted the program's practical focus in her remarks.
"Our students acquire practical skills already in their second year. The 'Come to PR' campaign is a vivid example of this, within the framework of which students independently organized and implemented a large-scale initiative involving schools from across Armenia," Melkonyan said.
Head of the chair Yuliana Melkumyan also addressed the importance of research and project management, stressing that for PR specialists every stage is crucial—from idea generation to implementation—through detailed planning and analysis, thereby ensuring process efficiency.
Faculty lecturers also delivered motivational speeches, inspiring prospective applicants.
During the event, students presented the faculty's advantages, the activities of the student council, the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ exchange program, as well as prospects for professional development and employment.
Third-year student of the "Public Relations" program Susanna Karapetyan noted: "PR is not just a profession; PR is power."
The event concluded with an interactive game, with winners receiving gifts. The meeting took place in an active and engaging atmosphere, featuring a question-and-answer session and open discussions.
