Professor Anahit Hambardzumyan, PhD in Economy and a devoted member of the Chair of Management and Business at the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, was actively engaged in the university's academic and pedagogical activities from 1994 until September 2025 and educated many generations of economists.
For more than 30 years, the professor devoted her professional life to her beloved faculty. Her academic research focuses on fundamental issues in labor economics. She is the author of more than 40 scholarly works, including the monographs "State Regulation of Labor Relations" (Yerevan, 2014), "Human Resources and Labor Economics" (Yerevan, 2016), and "The Labor Market of the Republic of Armenia: Situation and Trends" (Yerevan, 2016). She is also a co-author of the textbooks "Fundamentals of Human Development" (Yerevan, 2004) and "Selected Issues in Management and Business" (Yerevan, 2005). Under her academic supervision, more than seven candidate (PhD) dissertations have been defended, two of which were authored by foreign researchers.
Professor Hambardzumyan is a graduate of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management (1969) and has remained closely connected to the faculty throughout almost her entire professional career. From 1994 to 2017, she served as associate professor at the Chair of Management and Business, and from 2017 to 2025, as professor at the same chair. From 1998 to 2024, she held the position of Academic Secretary of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management. Between 1969 and 1994, she worked at the Research Institute of Economics and Planning of the State Planning Committee of the Armenian SSR, holding positions ranging from junior scientific and technical staff member to head of a research group.
Professor Hambardzumyan's academic and pedagogical achievements have been highly appreciated by both the university and state institutions. In 2009 and 2019, she was awarded certificates of honor, and in 2014, a certificate of merit by YSU. In 2007, she was awarded a letter of appreciation by the Civil Service Council of the Republic of Armenia, and in 2014, by the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
