Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the Dean of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, Associate Professor Karlen Khachatryan, and the Faculty's Deputy Dean and Head of Office, Associate Professor Vardan Aleksanyan, visited the EKA University of Applied Sciences in Riga, Latvia, and participated in the International Academic Week.
The International Academic Week brought together 55 representatives from 26 leading universities across 14 countries worldwide. By uniting members of the international academic community, the program aimed to promote cooperation, exchange of experience, and the establishment of new partnerships. YSU was among the only five universities whose representatives were given the opportunity to present their main educational and research directions at the official opening ceremony.
In his address, Dean Khachatryan presented YSU's organizational structure, as well as key achievements and strategic development priorities in the fields of education, science, and international cooperation.
He also provided an overview of the activities of the Faculty of Economics and Management, presenting the work of its chairs, educational programs, research laboratories, the scope of scientific research, the Banber journal, and the faculty's annual international conference.
YSU representatives also held a separate meeting with Jelena Titko, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation at the EKA University of Applied Sciences, during which they discussed strategic priorities for deepening bilateral relations.
In October 2024, Jelena Titko visited the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management and participated in the International Conference on "The Transformative Economy: Digital Technology, Spatial Disparities and Quality of Life."
The International Academic Week program also included a series of group discussions and workshops, during which representatives of participating universities explored possible formats of cooperation and key directions for development. During these meetings, Dean Khachatryan emphasized that the faculty is interested not only in the development of educational initiatives, such as student and faculty exchange programs, but also in the deepening of scientific cooperation, including joint research, publication of scientific articles, and the joint preparation of applications for international research grants.
As part of the International Academic Week, Associate Professor Khachatryan delivered a lecture for students of the host university on the topic "Contemporary Issues on Human Capital Management," presenting current challenges and development trends in the field.
Associate Professor Aleksanyan delivered a lecture on "Sustainable Business Models," addressing key approaches to the development of sustainability-based business models and the challenges associated with their implementation.
The event served as an important platform for expanding international academic cooperation, establishing new partnerships, and promoting joint academic and research initiatives.
