Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, Ruben Gevorgyan, Professor at the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management's Chair of Mathematical Modeling in Economics, Head of the "Data Science in Business" master's program, and Director of the YSU Business Incubator, along with Karine Asryan, Associate Professor at the Chair of Management and Business, participated in the International Academic Week 2026 held at the Bratislava University of Economics and Business in Slovakia from April 18–25.
The event brought together representatives of academic institutions from various countries with the view to promoting international cooperation, exchanging experience, and establishing new partnerships.
As part of the visit, the YSU lecturers engaged in educational, scientific, and collaborative activities, delivering lectures and participating in a number of bilateral and multilateral meetings and professional discussions.
At the Bratislava University of Economics and Business, Professor Ruben Gevorgyan and Associate Professor Karine Asryan delivered lectures to multinational undergraduate and graduate student audiences.
Professor Gevorgyan presented a lecture titled "Applications of Python in Business Analytics," highlighting the practical applications of modern analytical tools in the study of business processes and data analysis.
Associate Professor Asryan delivered lectures on "Neuromarketing as an Effective Tool of Business Strategy: The Case of Startups," emphasizing the practical significance of neuromarketing in the modern business environment and its role in developing effective strategies.
The lectures were conducted in an interactive format, incorporating case discussions, problem-based learning, practical exercises, group projects, and presentations, contributing to active student engagement and a more practice-oriented learning process.
As part of the visit, a series of meetings and discussions was also held with representatives of various prestigious universities. The discussions focused on opportunities to implement joint research projects, develop new educational modules, and explore new avenues for academic cooperation. The YSU lecturers actively participated in group discussions. Associate Professor Asryan discussed potential formats for a joint research project with colleagues from Italy and France to study consumer behavior models and decision-making mechanisms.
Professor Gevorgyan reached an agreement with Professor Miroslav Hudec from the Bratislava University of Economics and Business on conducting joint research focused on behavioral economics and human-computer interaction in cooperation with the relevant scientific laboratory at YSU. The agreement is expected to expand interuniversity scientific ties and the scope of collaborative research.
The meetings also addressed opportunities for deepening institutional cooperation between Yerevan State University and the Bratislava University of Economics and Business, including joint scientific projects, the expansion of student and faculty exchange programs, and the development of joint academic programs.
Summarizing the outcomes of the visit, Gevorgyan and Asryan noted that the program served as an important platform for expanding international academic cooperation, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, and exploring opportunities for introducing new educational modules based on interactive teaching methods and developing joint initiatives. They emphasized the importance of ensuring the continuity and further development of similar interuniversity exchange visits as a strategic direction for the internationalization of education and science.
