The "Light and Love for the Protection of Rights" NGO, headed by Rubina Petrosyan, Candidate of Legal Sciences and a lecturer in the Chair of Civil Law at YSU Faculty of Law, organized a panel discussion on the topic "Protection of Children's Rights." The event was attended by representatives from various government agencies as well as academic staff members from YSU Faculty of Law.

In her speech at the event held on April 15, Rubina Petrosyan highlighted that there are unresolved issues in media coverage concerning children. Especially in our time, the protection of children's rights in media coverage requires a special approach, making the media an essential tool in raising awareness about children's rights, preventing violations of those rights, and addressing issues of inequality.
Armen Haykyants, Head of the Chair of Civil Law at YSU Faculty of Law, Doctor of Legal Sciences, and Professor, stated that the protection of children's rights is one of the recent challenges. He mentioned that there are several ways to address this issue, and one of the tools is the media. He emphasized that this process must be carried out cautiously and systematically, taking into account the fundamental principles of ensuring the child's right to privacy, the best interests of the child, and the child's right to be heard.

The purpose of this panel discussion was to address issues such as how the media covers children's rights, whether children's rights are often violated in the process, how to increase media responsibility for protecting children's rights, how to ensure children's right to express their opinion in the media, and what mechanisms exist to hold the media accountable if its activities lead to violations of children's rights. In conclusion, Rubina Petrosyan expressed hope that the discussions will result in the adoption of relevant legal acts and regulations.
