A formal welcoming and orientation event for the first-year students of the 2025-2026 academic year was held at YSU Faculty of Law.

Dean of the Faculty of Law, Doctor and Professor Harutyun Khachikyan, congratulated the newcomers on their admission to the university and, on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge and Schooling, wished them to become highly skilled specialists with new thinking, solid preparation, and the capacity to meet the demands of the modern era. The dean emphasized that by working purposefully and efficiently during their education, students will secure their rightful place in the development processes of society and the state.
Following this, Dean Harutyun Khachikyan, Deputy Dean Ashot Petrosyan, and President of the Faculty Student Council Ani Chilingaryan introduced the administrative divisions of the Faculty of Law. They also presented the academic process organization, as well as key issues and prospects related to the field of law.

YSU Faculty of Law is one of the university’s oldest units with a rich academic tradition. Recognized as a leading faculty in both Armenia and the region in terms of international university rankings, it stands as the most prominent and historically significant center providing legal higher education in Armenia. Graduates of the faculty are employed across legislative and executive authorities, law enforcement and judicial systems, international institutions and organizations, law firms, consulting companies, and other establishments.
An engaging and fruitful discussion took place, during which YSU representatives answered a variety of questions raised by the students.
The start of the 2025-2026 academic year and the students’ entry into the world of knowledge was marked by the "Theory of State and Law" course, delivered by Doctor of Legal Sciences and Professor Artur Vagharshyan. The professor outlined the distinctive aspects of studying at the university, offered useful methods for mastering the course, and then presented his lecture, which covered the theoretical foundations of legal science, the subject of research, and its societal functions.
