A three-lecture series titled "Legal Advocacy in Armenia's Criminal Procedure System" was held from December 8 to 12 at the initiative of the Student Scientific Society of the YSU Faculty of Law and the Chair of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics.
The Head of the Chair of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics, Professor Samvel Dilbandyan, delivered a lecture on "Legal Advocacy in Armenia: The Role of Lawyers in Social Development and in Addressing Societal Challenges".
A lecture was also delivered by Associate Professor Sergey Marabyan from the Chair of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics on the topic "Legal Ethics: Norms, Violations, and Forms of Liability".
The lecture series concluded with a presentation on "The Formation of Defense Strategy in the Context of Legal Practice", delivered by Associate Professor Ruben Melikyan from the Chair of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics.
The lecture series provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of the role, responsibilities, rights, and practical aspects of a lawyer's work within the criminal procedure system of Armenia, emphasizing that the proper and effective implementation of the defense institution is a key prerequisite for ensuring a fair trial.
