On December 12, the Supreme Judicial Council of Armenia held an open house as part of a long-term program funded by the Swedish government, "Expanding Capacities of Armenian Judges to Meet New Judicial Expectations and Raising Public Trust". The event, organized under the framework of the YSU–Supreme Judicial Council cooperation memorandum, was attended by third-year students from the YSU Faculty of Law.
As part of the open house, YSU students visited the administrative building of the Supreme Judicial Council, took part in a disciplinary session concerning judicial accountability, and met with Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Artur Atabekyan and council members.
Deputy Heads Arshak Vardapetyan and Arus Hayrapetyan discussed the role and functions of the Judicial Department with the students, while Swedish judge Björn Linden presented the structure and key features of Sweden's judicial system, highlighting similarities and differences with Armenia's judiciary.
Such visits aim to enhance students' professional training and provide opportunities to apply their academic knowledge in practical settings.
