Teams from the Faculty of Law at Yerevan State University have regularly participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in recent years, achieving commendable results and maintaining this participation as an ongoing tradition. The competition is regarded as the most prestigious moot court in the field of international commercial arbitration, aimed at promoting the study of international private law and arbitration among students.
This year's competition, held from March 27 to April 2 in Vienna, Austria, brought together 390 university teams from 89 countries worldwide.
The YSU team comprised master's student at the Faculty of Law Anush Karamyan, and third-year students Eleonora Tumanyan, Margarita Yegoyants, and Arpine Zohrabyan. The team was coached by Tamara Ghazaryan and Erik Manukyan, students of the "International Courts and Arbitration" master's program at the Faculty of Law.
During the competition, students had the opportunity to study leading international best practices in the field and engage with prominent academics and representatives of internationally renowned law firms, establishing valuable professional connections.
The team expressed its deep gratitude to New York-based independent arbitrator Grant Hanessian for his financial support. Specializing in the resolution of international and complex commercial disputes, he played a key role in making the team's participation possible through his support.
