A solemn ceremony to award certificates for the 2025-2026 academic year of the YSU Legal Clinic was held in the courtroom of the YSU Faculty of Law. This year, the clinic once again concluded the academic year with significant results and achievements, strengthening the professional skills and experience of future lawyers.
Dean of the YSU Faculty of Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Harutyun Khachikyan highly appreciated the role of the clinic in the faculty's educational process, emphasizing that the YSU Legal Clinic, which has been operating for nearly three decades, has carried out high-quality work over the years, as evidenced by citizens' words of gratitude.
Knarik Vardanyan, Director of the YSU Legal Clinic, presented the final report for the 2025-2026 academic year, addressing the extensive work carried out, the development of students' practical skills and the results of free legal assistance provided to citizens.
"Clinical legal education not only provides an opportunity to turn theoretical knowledge into practice, but also to understand the essence of a lawyer as a professional and their responsibility, recognizing that behind every case is a person with their problems, rights and expectations," Knarik Vardanyan said.
The coordinators and lecturers of the professional groups attended the ceremony. By sharing their experience and knowledge with students over several months, they contributed to the professional growth and development of future lawyers.
In his congratulatory remarks, Hayk Alumyan, coordinator and lecturer of the Criminal Law/ECHR Applications professional group, urged students never to forget that a citizen who turns to them may have a difficult character, be confrontational and create other problems due to their personal traits, but this cannot mean that the legal issue they raise is not real.
Tigran Markosyan, coordinator and lecturer of the Civil Law/Administrative Law professional group, also congratulated the graduates and once again emphasized the importance of effective cooperation between the Legal Clinic and various state institutions in restoring citizens' rights.
At the end of the event, it was noted that students who had received clinical education are ready to join Armenia's legal community with a high sense of responsibility and professional preparedness, and they were solemnly awarded their certificates.
