
The Armenian Powerlifting Federation participated in the XPC Powerlifting European Championship, held in Śledlitz, Poland, from March 26 to 30. The team was led by the President of the Federation and head coach of the national team, Gagik Saroyan.
Among the team members was Angelina Chobanyan, a first-year student of the "Genomics and Medical Cell Genetics" master's program at the Faculty of Biology, Yerevan State University.
In the competition, she lifted 100 kg in her first attempt, followed by 110 kg in her second attempt. After a fierce contest, she secured the gold medal of the European Championship by lifting 110 kg. In her third attempt, she successfully lifted 122.5 kg.
Among over 400 athletes from 15 countries participating in the competition, Angelina became the European champion in the women’s 67.5 kg weight category in the "Deadlift" event. In the overall standings, she placed third, earning a bronze trophy.
Angelina Chobanyan is a four-time champion of Armenia, and this was her first international competition.
