Palestinian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekyan visits YSU
Varsen Aghabekyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine and a renowned historian, visited Yerevan State University to outline new prospects for academic cooperation between the two sides and to strengthen cultural ties.

YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan presented the university’s activities and academic programs, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to collaborating with international partners and fostering dialogue and scientific cooperation.
Varsen Aghabekyan highly praised YSU’s academic potential and educational reputation. Speaking about the importance of enhancing inter-university cooperation between the two countries, he noted that exchange programs play a vital role in sharing knowledge and experience.
Discussing educational programs and available opportunities, Head of YSU International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov noted that currently one student from Palestine is studying at the university. He also highlighted that students from Palestinian universities are eligible to apply for the "Human Rights and Democratization" master's program and to participate in its courses online, which are delivered entirely in English.
During the meeting, both parties expressed hope that the preliminary agreements reached will soon develop into concrete programs and initiatives, and that cooperation will continue along the path of mutual success and partnership.
Also present at the meeting were YSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elina Asriyan, Vice-Rector for Development and Innovation Mikayel Hovhannisyan, and Third Secretary of the Middle East and Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ara Matevosyan.
