Information session at YSU on academic pathways to University of Greifswald
Yerevan State University hosted an information session with Hasmik Hunanyan, a representative of the University of Greifswald (Germany). She presented to students and faculty the various opportunities for studying, conducting research, and gaining international experience in Germany.

During the meeting, Hasmik Hunanyan provided a detailed overview of the structure of the University of Greifswald, its academic conditions, and educational programs. She emphasized that the university is one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in Germany, combining classical educational approaches with modern scientific research.

"At the University of Greifswald, students can choose from a wide range of academic disciplines—from natural sciences and medicine to humanities and social sciences. In addition to high-quality education, the university places significant importance on fostering an international academic environment, where students, through intercultural communication, learn to collaborate, exchange experiences, and develop their language skills," noted Hasmik Hunanyan.
The speaker also addressed the effective partnership that has been established between YSU and the University of Greifswald, which began several years ago. The main objective of this collaboration is to promote academic exchange of students and faculty, implement joint research projects, and enhance educational experience. Under the Erasmus+ international program, YSU students have the opportunity to study at the University of Greifswald for a certain period.

Hasmik Hunanyan noted that students may apply to the program through YSU International Cooperation Office.
"Each year, the number of available places is limited. Typically, 2 to 4 students may participate in the exchange program. This year, we again have 2 spots available—the number depends on the level of funding. It is important that applicants have strong academic performance and proficiency in a foreign language," she said.
At the end of the meeting, Hasmik Hunanyan answered students’ questions, addressing the application process, required documents, and the support provided to students during the program. She also highlighted that such programs not only offer access to European education but also contribute to gaining international experience and broadening professional horizons.
