New prospects for educational cooperation between Armenia and Kuwait discussed
In the context of expanding international cooperation, YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan hosted Mohammad Tareq Ali Al-Oraifan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kuwait to Armenia.
During the visit, YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Kuwaiti Ambassador Mohammad Tareq Ali Al-Oraifan discussed opportunities for mutually interesting cooperation and new initiatives.
Referring to the scientific and cultural relations with Arab countries, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan highly appreciated the bilateral readiness to implement new programs with Kuwait. In this context, particular mention was made of the activities of the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Center for Arabic Culture at the university, which contribute to ensuring quality education, enhancing interstate relations, and expanding research activities.
"We are ready to expand our cooperation. We have already launched various initiatives through which we promote the Arabic language and Kuwaiti culture in various ways," emphasized YSU rector.
Mohammad Tareq Ali Al-Oraifan, Ambassador of Kuwait to Armenia, stated, "We plan to discuss with the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Kuwait, Arsen Arakelyan, potential avenues for cooperation with the university."
Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Ambassador Mohammad Tareq Ali Al-Oraifan underscored the traditional friendly relations between Armenia and Kuwait. They noted that while these relations remain vibrant today, they can be transformed into new opportunities for contemporary cooperation. In this regard, modern technologies and artificial intelligence can play a key role. Both countries pay significant attention to these fields and can help each other.
The meeting was also attended by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Ruben Melkonyan, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; Associate Professor Hayk Kocharyan, Head of the Chair of Arabic Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Vahe Hakobyan, Assistant at the same chair; and Naira Mnatsakanyan, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Office.
