University representatives visit Sweden as part of eCAMPUS project
A two-day educational visit under the eCAMPUS project of the Erasmus+ program, coordinated by Yerevan State University, took place at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. The visit, titled "Promoting Socially Distanced and Inclusive on-Campus Education in Armenian HEIs: eCAMPUS", was aimed at developing internal quality assurance systems for digital teaching and learning in Armenian higher education institutions.
The educational visit on October 14–15 brought together representatives from partner Armenian and European universities and educational institutions. The Armenian delegation included representatives from Yerevan State University, Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University, Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi, Northern University, the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of the NAS RA, the National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and the Committee of Science and Higher Education.
Representatives of the European partner institutions who participated in the meetings and discussions included delegates from Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain), University of Lisbon (Portugal), and University of Genoa (Italy).
Armen Budaghyan, Director of the Quality Assurance Center and project coordinator, and Mari Santurjyan, the Deputy Director of the same center, represented Yerevan State University during the visit to the Royal Institute in Stockholm.
During the two-day visit, the first day of the meeting-discussion, titled "Internal Quality Assurance System for Digital Teaching and Learning", featured presentations and experience-sharing by the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center representatives of the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. They provided detailed information on the systems, assessment mechanisms, and features of digital teaching at their university. Particularly notable were the reports on "Digital Transformations in Higher Education" and "European and National Perspectives on Quality Assurance", which drew significant interest for their informative and instructive nature. The first day also included an engaging tour of the institute.
On the second day, European partner university representatives—Giovanni Adorni (University of Genoa), Rui Mendes (University of Lisbon), Reyes Hernandez (University of Madrid), and Viktor Cordas (Royal Institute in Stockholm)—presented the distinctive features of digital teaching and the corresponding quality assurance mechanisms and procedures in their respective countries.
Project coordinator Armen Budaghyan provided a detailed overview of the upcoming work plan, corresponding schedule, and the changes already implemented.
The visit fostered strengthened collaboration between Armenian and European partners, aimed at designing a reliable internal quality assurance system aligned with the standards of the European Higher Education Area. Discussions emphasized the importance of continuous improvement, integrating digital competencies, and developing sustainable models for digital transformation.
