New prospects for Armenian–Kazakh scientific and educational cooperation discussed at YSU
Today, YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan hosted Bolat Imanbayev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia; Zhanseit Kanseituly Tuimebayev, Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; and Askar Yerkinov, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The purpose of the meeting was to outline prospects for strengthening scientific and educational ties and expanding cooperation between the two universities.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around several important issues related to deepening and broadening cooperation between the two educational institutions.
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan noted that the long-standing partnership between the universities is an important factor not only for strengthening scientific and educational ties, but also for advancing cultural and academic dialogue between the two countries. He stressed that YSU is ready to expand the scope of joint programs, including student mobility, the organization of collaborative conferences, joint research projects, and reciprocal academic support.
The rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in turn, highly appreciated the role of Yerevan State University among the leading scientific and educational institutions in the region. He noted that cooperation between the universities of the two countries can bring new quality to intercultural understanding and scientific exchange.
Both sides also emphasized that a number of new initiatives are planned to be developed and implemented.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue and expand their cooperation.
