YSU invites participation in AI Conf Armenia 2026, the year's premier tech event
On April 18, Yerevan State University, serving as a co-organizer, will host the country's largest conference dedicated to artificial intelligence — AI Conf Armenia 2026. This event represents a significant step toward positioning Armenia as a global hub for artificial intelligence.
During a final meeting of the organizing committee held today at YSU, the official countdown to the conference was launched. In keeping with a tradition of the tech community, the committee's leadership — YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Rafayel Barkhudaryan, UATE CEO Sargis Karapetyan, Krisp CEO Artavazd Minasyan, and Director of the YerevaNN Scientific Educational Foundation Hrant Khachatryan — signed the first official poster of AI Conf 2026.
Now in its fourth year, the conference aims to bring together leading specialists, scientists and entrepreneurs to reassess the breakthrough developments in Armenia's AI sector over the past year.
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan said, "YSU, as the center of Armenia's scientific and educational life, is proud to host AI Conf Armenia 2026. The conference marks another step toward positioning Armenia as a global hub for artificial intelligence—a process in which YSU continues to play a leading role."
Leading international and local speakers
Among the keynote speakers, Rev Lebaredian, Vice President of NVIDIA, will travel from the United States to Armenia to deliver a talk titled "AI Agents and the Economy of Tokens". NVIDIA is one of the world's most advanced companies in AI and ranks among the most valuable companies globally by market capitalization.
Also featured among the special guests is Armen Aghajanyan, founder of Perceptron, who will present a talk titled "The Armenian AI Doctrine".
Record-breaking attendance
As in previous years, admission to AI Conf remains free of charge. This year, YSU expects an unprecedented turnout of around 2,000 participants. The conference hall will be fully dedicated to young scientists, students, technology entrepreneurs, and all those interested in the future of the Armenian AI landscape.
YSU Vice-Rector Rafayel Barkhudaryan underscored the pivotal role YSU students and young researchers play in advancing the field: "From this perspective, the conference provides an exceptional opportunity to engage directly with world-class experts and to become part of Armenia's AI ecosystem."
YSU as key hub for AI development in Armenia
In recent years, Armenia has recorded unprecedented growth in supercomputing and GPU infrastructure. At the heart of this mission, Yerevan State University serves as a primary hub; its newly installed supercomputerequipped with 64 NVIDIA H100 GPUs along with a state-of-the-art data processing center, is poised to become the backbone of the country’s computational capacity and scientific innovation.
Should ongoing investment programs continue their successful trajectory, Armenia is expected to rank among the world's top 10 countries in total computing capacity as early as next year. AI Conf Armenia 2026 aims to reinterpret this rapid growth and explore ways to channel it toward the country's development.
