All educational programs of YSU Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics receive six-year international accreditation: regular meeting of YSU Academic Council
A regular meeting of the Academic Council of Yerevan State University was held, during which the agenda items and additional matters were discussed. The council adopted decisions on awarding academic titles and approving amendments to internal regulations.
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan announced that, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics and the Quality Assurance Center, all educational programs of the faculty have been granted six-year accreditation by the German international agency ASIIN. He also noted that accreditation processes are currently underway for the Faculties of Oriental Studies, Law, Economics and Management.
The meeting began with a report by Poghos Vardevanyan, Chair of the YSU Competition Commission, who presented the list of lecturers applying for the academic title of Associate Professor.
In accordance with the established procedure for awarding academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor in the Republic of Armenia, as well as the YSU Academic Council regulations, and based on the results of a closed secret ballot, the council decided to confer academic titles on the following staff members:

YSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elina Asriyan presented for approval the Mini MBA modular supplementary education program developed by the YSU Business Incubator, proposing its endorsement and submission to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia for approval.
An active discussion followed regarding the program's focus and the allocation of instructional hours, and comprehensive responses were provided to the questions raised.
In line with the requirements set out in the RA MoESCS Order No. 51-N of June 16, 2025, on the approval procedure for modular supplementary education programs, and guided by the YSU Charter and Academic Council regulations, the Council approved the Mini MBA program.
Agenda items 3 through 6 were then presented by Armen Tadevosyan, Head of the YSU Legal Service and Chief Legal Adviser.
He first reported on proposed amendments to YSU's internal disciplinary rules. It was decided to revise Clause 30 of the internal disciplinary rules approved on February 29, 2024, and adopt its new wording.
During the discussion, council members raised questions mainly concerning the calculation of working hours for the academic staff and specific aspects of the work regime.
Tadevosyan also presented proposals to approve new regulations for the YSU Methodological Council and to repeal the previous regulations adopted on March 30, 2017. These changes, he noted, are necessitated by the amendments to the RA Law "On Higher Education and Science".
The Academic Council approved the new regulations, terminated the mandate of the current composition of the Methodological Council, and decided that a new membership list will be appointed by the rector within ten days after the decision enters into force.
Further proposals included the approval of operating procedures for the YSU Academic Unit Quality Assurance and Methodological Committee, and the repeal of previously adopted related regulations from 2017. Tadevosyan also reported on the approval of the operating procedures of the YSU Scientific-Organizational Council and the repeal of its regulations adopted on November 24, 2022.
Following extensive discussion, the Academic Council approved the items with certain revisions.
The rapporteur also presented the proposal to approve the operating procedures of the YSU Scientific-Organizational Council and to repeal its previously adopted regulations. Acting in accordance with the YSU Charter and the council's procedures, the Academic Council approved the agenda item.
Subsequently, Director of the YSU Publishing House Karen Grigoryan presented agenda items 7 and 8, concerning amendments to the publishing policy of the Yerevan State University Foundation and the approval of works recommended for publication by the Publishing Council.
Based on the report and in accordance with the YSU Charter and the council's procedures, the council resolved to approve (a) amendments to the publishing policy of the Yerevan State University Foundation, and (b) the recommendation for publication of the following books:

Finally, the rector presented a proposal to amend the regulations of the YSU Academic Council's Standing Ethics Committee, aimed at further clarifying its functions.
