YSU Olympiad–2025 concludes: Top performers awarded
The concluding ceremony of YSU Olympiad–2025, held throughout April and May, took place in YSU Academic Council Session Hall. During the awards ceremony, the winning students were honored with first-, second-, and third-degree diplomas, as well as certificates of commendation and gifts.

YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, in his welcome remarks, emphasized: "YSU has been organizing such Olympiads for years with the aim of encouraging academic excellence and knowledge. I am delighted that this hall is filled with the best – the winners. Our next important goal is to strengthen the connection between YSU and school students. Since the Olympiad also serves as a pathway to the university, the prizewinners will be eligible for privileges upon admission to YSU, including partial tuition fee discounts."

YSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elina Asriyan emphasized the role of youth amid the continuously evolving educational environment: "Today’s education strives to keep pace with the rapid advancement of technology, therefore, we recognize that we have no right to stand still. You – the Olympiad winners – have proven that innovation is in good hands. I congratulate you and wish for you to remain in a continuous journey of learning, development, and self-improvement."
Kristine Harutyunyan, the Olympiad coordinator and former Head of YSU Center for Admissions and Affairs with Applicants, underlined the success of the event: "Only the best win, and many of them have already expressed their desire to pursue their future studies at YSU. That is the most encouraging outcome for us."

The award ceremony was also attended by deans and representatives from various faculties, who congratulated the students and emphasized the importance of the Olympiad as an educational incentive and a bridge between generations.
Awards were presented in the following subjects: Biology, Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Armenian History, Armenian Language and Literature, State and Law, Geography, English, Russian, German, French, and Logic.
Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Karen Ghazaryan, specifically noted the achievements of participants in the natural sciences: "This is your first step toward the university. I’m pleased to see so many talented students in the field of biology. I’m convinced that you will become an integral part of YSU."
Dean of the Faculty of History, Mkhitar Gabrielyan, stressed the importance of national identity: "The knowledge you demonstrated gives us hope that we have a youth who not only knows their history but is also ready to be a worthy successor of our future."
Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geology, Sargis Kelyan, spoke on his area of expertise: "There’s a common perception that geography does not attract much interest among the youth. Today, I was convinced otherwise—we have talented students whom we can proudly consider future YSU students."

According to the decision by YSU Academic Council, students who have been awarded first-, second-, or third-degree diplomas in general education subjects at the Olympiad will be granted a tuition fee discount of 50%, 40%, and 30% respectively for the first year, should they enroll in YSU's tuition-based programs.
