The Yerevan office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Institute of Armenian Studies at Yerevan State University are jointly organizing a course titled "The South Caucasus and the Key Principles of EU Policy and Decision-Making".
The course aims to provide students with knowledge and practical analytical tools regarding the South Caucasus countries' relations with the EU, EU-Armenia relations, EU policies, diplomacy, decision-making processes, European values, domestic and foreign policy issues, institutional frameworks, and the roles of global, regional, and local actors in the region's political landscape.
The four-stage course will take place in spring, summer, and autumn 2026 at one of the hotel complexes located in different provinces of Armenia. Each stage will include four sessions, each lasting three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), with mandatory attendance.
During these sessions, participants will engage in lectures on the above topics, group work, brainstorming sessions, simulation and role-playing exercises, assignments, discussions, debates, and research projects.
Eligible applicants include bachelor's students in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years, first-year master's students at Armenian universities, as well as young professionals from Armenian public institutions and educational organizations. The course will be led by prominent Armenian and international scholars, experts, and officials specializing in political science, law, economics, military studies, international relations, and psychology.
Upon completion, participants will receive certificates from Yerevan State University and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
All financial expenses will be covered by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
The application deadline is March 15, 2026. Selected participants for the first stage will be notified and invited for interviews scheduled between March 23 and 29, 2026.
