On July 8, a formal diploma award ceremony for bachelor's and master's graduates of the YSU Institute of Pharmacy was held at the YSU Main Hall.
The ceremony opened with the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia and the YSU anthem. Academician Ashot Saghyan, Founder of the Institute of Pharmacy and President of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, then delivered welcoming and congratulatory remarks. Commending the students for their years of hard work, he emphasized that highly qualified pharmacists play an important role in the country's development.
During the first part of the ceremony, graduates of the "Pharmacy" full-time bachelor's program received their diplomas. The diplomas were presented by Anna Mkrtchyan, Director of the Institute, and Academician Ashot Saghyan. Leo Yeprikyan delivered remarks of gratitude on behalf of the graduates.
Graduates of the "Pharmaceutical Chemistry" part-time bachelor's program then received their diplomas. They were congratulated and presented with their diplomas by Samvel Vardapetyan and Volodya Mirzoyan, Associate Professors at the Chair of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy.
Anahit Hovhannisyan, Head of the "Pharmacy" master's program, welcomed its graduates and wished them success, while Hayarpi Simonyan, Head of the "Drug Quality Control" program, addressed the master's graduates of that program. Graduates Tigran Haroyan, Hermine Parikyan and Mari Khachatryan delivered remarks of gratitude.
The event also featured a formal pharmacists' oath ceremony. Standing together on stage, the master's graduates pledged to uphold the honor and professional calling of pharmacists in the service of public health. In her congratulatory address, Institute Director Anna Mkrtchyan emphasized that the knowledge and experience acquired at the university would provide a solid foundation for graduates to achieve their goals.
Following a formal photo session, the celebration continued with several commemorative traditions. The master's graduates bottled a special wine to be opened at a reunion 10 years later. As a keepsake, the graduates also created a Pharmacy Graduates' Tree with their colored fingerprints.
This year's graduates of the YSU Institute of Pharmacy once again demonstrated that YSU not only provides a high-quality education but also instills values that remain with graduates throughout their lives.
