From July 28 to August 1, 2025, the Center for European Studies at Yerevan State University hosted the summer school titled "EU Neighborhood: History, Politics, and Security."
The event brought together young scholars, students, and policy analysts from various fields to discuss the key issues of the European Union’s neighborhood policy, its impact on the South Caucasus region, and emerging security realities.
During the course, participants had the opportunity to attend lectures and engage in group discussions led by top experts in the field.
Speakers included Suren Tadevosyan, Narek Sukiasyan, and Nino Lapiashvili.
Suren Tadevosyan presented the main directions of the EU’s policy toward neighboring countries and the EU’s role as a global actor in international politics.
Narek Sukiasyan analyzed Armenia’s foreign and security policy priorities, as well as relations with the EU and the United States.
Nino Lapiashvili addressed both the general external and security policy principles of the EU, including its external competences.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, participants were actively involved in group practical work, conducting joint analyses and presenting assignments developed during the training.
The summer school concluded with a screening of videos showcasing the participants’ work, followed by a formal certificate awarding ceremony.
The program contributed to deepening participants’ knowledge, fostering critical thinking about regional processes, and establishing new connections.
