The "Cultural Studies" bachelor's program at the YSU Faculty of History has been training highly qualified specialists since 2002, with graduates successfully working in Armenian and international academic, cultural, and public platforms. The program is designed for those interested in national identity and heritage, issues related to the theory and history of culture, as well as contemporary socio-cultural processes, modern disciplines, and practices exploring culture and society.
The program combines a broad range of humanities and social sciences, providing students with a strong foundational education and helping them navigate the labor market with confidence.
Knowledge and skills offered by program
Within the framework of the program, students acquire comprehensive professional knowledge and skills, including a theoretical understanding of culture, methodologies for interpreting cultural phenomena, and applied analysis of the historical development of Armenian and world cultures.
Particular emphasis is placed on practical knowledge in the fields of cultural policy, modern management models, and the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
The program also develops students' field research skills, including the study of cultural landscapes, the description and professional assessment of archaeological and architectural monuments, open-air sanctuaries, and related sites. In addition, students gain fundamental knowledge of museology, including collection research, exhibition planning and organization, cultural institution management, and risk assessment and prevention.
