The YSU Faculty of Russian Philology hosted a delegation from the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic, under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program.
The delegation included Ivana Dobrotová, Head of the Department of Slavonic Studies, and Zdenka Vychodilová, a lecturer at the same department.
The visit continued the active cooperation that the two universities have developed in recent years. In April, Dean of the YSU Faculty of Russian Philology Diana Gazarova paid a working visit to Palacký University.
The program included a series of academic and professional meetings. Students of the Faculty of Philology attended a lecture on comparative typology, focusing on a comparative analysis of Russian and Czech. The lecture generated considerable interest among students and evolved into a platform for discussing current issues in Slavic linguistics.
The delegation also presented the academic programs offered by the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University. The Czech partners informed students about study opportunities, academic mobility programs, and international projects in which YSU students may participate.
During meetings, representatives of the two universities reviewed the progress of their cooperation, discussed student exchange programs, and explored prospects for the further development of joint educational and research initiatives.
The substantive professional dialogue with colleagues from Palacký University and the engaging lectures provided a clear example of effective academic cooperation. The established partnership is expected to further strengthen international academic ties and support the implementation of new joint initiatives.
The partnership between the two faculties includes both faculty and student mobility programs. Currently, one student from Olomouc is studying at the YSU Faculty of Russian Philology, while two YSU students are studying at the Czech university.
