As part of ongoing cooperation between the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management and the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), high-achieving students from various degree programs visited the bank on September 28, accompanied by faculty leadership members, and met with CBA Governor Martin Galstyan.
The visit aimed to complement students' theoretical knowledge with practical experience, support their professional development and strengthen the link between university education and labor market needs. The students were accompanied by Karlen Khachatryan, Dean of the Faculty; Grigor Hayrapetyan, Associate Professor and Head of the Chair of Economics and International Economic Relations; and Gnel Sahakyan, Associate Professor and Acting Head of the Chair of Financial Accounting.
During the meeting, students learned about the specifics of the Central Bank's core functions, financial stability and current economic developments. In a question-and-answer session, they had the opportunity to ask Governor Galstyan about a range of issues, including recent economic developments, financial stability, the potential impact of artificial intelligence, the regulation of cryptoassets and macroprudential policy.
The discussion also covered career development, the importance of lifelong learning and the knowledge and skills needed to become competitive professionals in the job market. Galstyan, himself a graduate of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, shared professional insights with the students. The opportunity to speak directly with an experienced professional helped them gain a clearer understanding of the opportunities and demands of their future careers.
The Faculty of Economics and Management regularly organizes similar visits and meetings.
