A significant sectoral discussion on the prospects of introducing circular economy principles in Armenia took place at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Yerevan State University.

The event, held on June 10, was initiated by the Freedom of Information Center in partnership with YSU Faculty of Economics and Management. It brought together representatives from regulatory state bodies, the business community, the Circular Economy Coalition of Armenia, and researchers. The primary goal of the discussion was to identify the concerns of business and policy stakeholders and to provide solutions grounded in expert knowledge.
The speakers addressed the economic, social, and environmental benefits of implementing the circular economy, as well as the challenges in the availability of financial, technological, and educational resources. They also emphasized the importance of public awareness in the context of changing consumer behavior, alongside identifying existing circular economy approaches in Armenia and their potential for expansion.
Among the speakers were representatives from the Circular Economy Coalition, Ameria Company, Impact Hub Yerevan, and the CirculUp! program, as well as businesspeople working with recycling and reuse models (from the companies HAYBED and SOLER), sector experts, researchers, and policymakers.

As a partner, YSU Faculty of Economics and Management reaffirmed its important commitment to hosting multifaceted, professional, and evidence-based discourses on current economic issues and to promoting their development.
The event was held within the framework of the EU-supported CirculUp! program, implemented by the Impact Hub Network, Impact Hub Yerevan, and the Environment and Health NGO.
The discussion was livestreamed by ABNews TV, making it accessible to a broader audience. The recording of the discussion is available on the Armenian Business News YouTube channel.
