Grigor Hayrapetyan, Head of the Chair of Economics and International Economic Relations at the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, visited the University of Greifswald (Germany) from December 7 to 13 as part of the DAAD Eastern Partnership program. The visit aimed to strengthen international relations and foster the exchange of experience.
During the visit, Grigor Hayrapetyan met with Susanne Soretz, Head of the Chair of Growth Economics, Structural Change, and Trade at the Faculty of Law and Economics, University of Greifswald. The meeting focused on exploring potential collaboration between the two faculties in joint research, as well as developing mechanisms for lecturer and student mobility. Both sides agreed to exchange and review the curricula of their educational programs to ensure comparability and facilitate effective academic mobility.
Grigor Hayrapetyan presented six educational programs of the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management—three at the bachelor's level and three at the master's level—which are currently undergoing international accreditation. Given that the accrediting organization is German, the parties discussed formats of collaboration that could support the effective implementation of the accreditation process.
The visit also provided a unique opportunity to invite international partners to the 3rd International Conference on "Transformative Economy: Green Transition, Institutional Quality and Value Creation", which will be held at the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management from October 7–9, 2026, and has already attracted significant interest from several partner universities.
According to the agreement, representatives of the University of Greifswald will visit Yerevan State University in the spring to discuss further steps for cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Management.
During the visit, Grigor Hayrapetyan also participated in a cultural event organized by the University of Greifswald's International Office, as well as an informational session about the university's activities.
