From February 6 to 13, Hasmik Hovhannisyan, Associate Professor and Head of the "International Economic Relations" master's program at the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management, conducted a working visit to the University of Greifswald within the framework of the German Academic Exchange Service's Eastern Partnership program (DAAD Eastern Partnership). The visit aimed to strengthen academic and scientific ties between YSU and its European partner universities.
During the visit, Associate Professor Hovhannisyan became acquainted with the operations of the University of Greifswald's International Office, as well as with the university's structure and history. Hovhannisyan delivered a lecture on the topic "Inclusive Regional Integration in a Polarized Geopolitical Environment and TRIPP" to the faculty members and PhD students of the Chair of General Economics.
A significant meeting took place with Prof. Dr. Susanne Soretz, Head of the Chair of Economic Growth, Structural Change and Trade at the Faculty of Law and Economics of the University of Greifswald. Discussions covered new opportunities for developing cooperation between the two faculties, including the creation and implementation of dual-degree programs, conducting joint research, organizing remote lectures, and establishing mechanisms for academic mobility for both faculty and students.
It is noteworthy that collaboration with the University of Greifswald began last year, and this visit provided an opportunity to give more substance to the agreements already reached. As a continuation of this cooperation, a visit by the German partners to Yerevan is planned, during which meetings with YSU representatives and the development of the next phases of joint programs will take place.
This visit further reaffirmed YSU's commitment to developing international academic cooperation and strengthening the university's position as a regional center for education and research.
