On March 25, the Faculty of Economics and Management at Yerevan State University hosted a scientific seminar titled "Study of Occupational Stress Among Economically Active Population of Armenia".
The seminar featured the presentation of joint research findings by Anna Hakobjanyan, Associate Professor and Head of the Chair of Management and Business at YSU; Amalya Galstyan, Associate Professor of the same chair; and Elena Kulchitskaya and Elena Kadura, Associate Professors of the Department of Planning and Management of Socio-Economic Processes at Saint Petersburg State University.
The objective of the study is to analyze the causes of occupational stress and the factors influencing it among the economically active population, based on statistical indicators and empirical research data. During the seminar, the developed methodology and the results of the conducted research were presented.
The topic is highly relevant, considering that professional research views occupational stress not only as an individual or psychological issue but also as a macroeconomic and social challenge. The study performed a multidimensional assessment of factors affecting occupational stress, categorized by age and gender groups, types of organizations, the nature of employment, and work formats.
The research findings will be summarized and published in a scholarly article. Furthermore, the research group intends to continue its collaboration, expanding the scope of the study to include qualitative analyses.
Notably, research using the same methodology has also been conducted in several other countries, including Russia, Belarus, and Jordan. These findings will be used to contextualize and summarize the results of the current study within a comparative framework.
The seminar concluded with active discussions among participants, highlighting the strategic importance of stress management and the necessity of expanding this research. The event was attended by faculty members and PhD students.
The YSU Faculty of Economics and Management continues its series of scientific seminars. These sessions are open to participation by the faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students from both YSU and other universities across Armenia.
