The YSU Faculty of Economics and Management hosted a regular scientific seminar on the topic "Intergenerational Justice in Economic Discourse: Systemic Issues of the Republic of Armenia", led by Vardush Gyozalyan, Associate Professor at the Chair of Management and Business.
The presentation focused on an economic analysis of intergenerational justice. Emphasizing its theoretical, methodological, and applied significance in contemporary economic systems, the speaker noted that the topic lies at the core of modern scientific discourse due to the interdependence of economic, social, and environmental developments, as well as the growing importance of assessing the long-term consequences of economic policy.
The speaker highlighted that, in the context of sustainable development, ensuring the efficient allocation and equitable redistribution of resources between present and future generations is crucial. The analysis outlined the key challenges in the formation and implementation of intergenerational justice in Armenia, examining them in the context of social policy, environmental issues, investment activity, and the dynamics and interrelated trends of public debt indicators.
The discussion was attended by faculty members from various chairs of the faculty as well as students. The seminar was marked by active academic debate, questions and answers, and an exchange of ideas.
A related presentation was delivered by Doctor of Economics, Professor Gagik Vardanyan, who offered valuable proposals for expanding the scope and focus of the study of the topic.
In his concluding remarks, Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Karlen Khachatryan, emphasized the relevance of the topic and the need for further in-depth academic research. Faculty members also shared their observations and suggestions.
