From May 4–8, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the YSU Faculty of Economics and Management hosted representatives of the Bratislava University of Economics — Head of the Department of International Trade, Professor Elena Kastakova, and Assistant Professor Vladyslav Bato.
During the visit, the representatives of the partner university met with Faculty Dean Associate Professor Karlen Khachatryan. The meeting focused on potential areas for expanding cooperation, including implementing research grant projects, joint and double-degree academic programs, and new formats of academic exchange. Special attention was given to initiatives that could strengthen professional ties between the two universities and foster long-term collaboration.
Dean Khachatryan emphasized the importance of such exchange visits, noting that meetings of this kind are essential for building stable and practical institutional relations, improving the effectiveness of experience sharing, and developing joint initiatives. He added that the expansion of international cooperation is a priority for the faculty, as it helps create an open, collaborative academic environment based on knowledge exchange. He also noted that faculty members had recently visited the Bratislava University of Economics, underscoring the ongoing nature of the exchange and its role in strengthening professional and institutional ties.
As part of the visit, Vladyslav Bato delivered interactive lectures for master's students of the "International Economic Relations" and "Marketing" programs titled "Forms of Entering International Markets" and "Trade Policies and Their Impact on Countries' Competitiveness."
The lectures covered key strategies for operating in international markets, features of export and investment policies, and trade instruments used in international practice that have a tangible impact on competitiveness. Special emphasis was placed on current trends in international trade and the main factors shaping competitive advantages in global markets, drawing on examples from different countries. The presentations were accompanied by questions and analytical discussions, with students sharing their observations and insights.
Such specialized lectures deepen students' professional knowledge by providing exposure to approaches developed in academic communities of different countries and their practical applications. They also help broaden students' professional horizons through integrating international experience and diverse educational perspectives.
