Within the framework of the "Establishment of Remote Laboratories 2024" program of the Higher Education and Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Nikolay Dmitriev, one of the foreign co-supervisors of the research grant, visited the Economic Policy and Management Research Center operating at Yerevan State University. Dmitriev is Deputy Director of the S. Yu. Witte Institute for New Industrial Development, Associate Professor at the Higher School of Engineering and Economics of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and Head of the Educational Laboratory of Modeling and Digitalization of Socio-Economic Systems.
During the visit, working discussions were held at the Economic Policy and Management Research Center with the participation of members of the research team. The interim results of the program were summarized, and further research directions and opportunities for expanding international scientific cooperation were discussed. The discussions focused on issues related to the assessment and analysis of Armenia's human capital, labor, scientific and technological potential.
The progress and results of the research team's joint publications were also discussed. One of the important outcomes of the cooperation is the publication of the article "Sustainable Development of Human Capital and Digital Technologies in Armenia as a Driver of Socio-Economic Consolidation" in the Q2-ranked International Journal of Technology, which is indexed in the Scopus international scientific database.
The working meetings also addressed the research team's current study directions, particularly those related to technological change and long-term economic development.
Karlen Khachatryan, Head of the Economic Policy and Management Research Center, noted that the research team's ongoing studies focus on the stages of technological development and the long-term cycles of the economy. These studies may improve the toolkit for human capital management, especially in terms of professional and staffing support for the labor market, education policy and innovation sectors. Research team member Dr. Prof. Gagik Vardanyan presented the current results of the research on these issues.
Special attention was also paid to expanding the research group's statistical and analytical database. In particular, it is planned to create a comprehensive information platform that will enable the study of territorial, educational, scientific-technological and socio-economic development trends of Armenia's human capital in greater depth.
As a result of the visit, agreements were reached on the direction of the research, new scientific publications, and the presentation of research results at international conferences.
