Appreciation, inspiration, and collaboration: Korean Language Course concluded at YSU
An event dedicated to the Korean language and culture was held at the initiative of YSU Faculty of International Relations, concluding the eight-month Korean language course implemented at YSU. The initiative aimed to serve educational and cultural purposes as well as to encourage students by recognizing their efforts and progress, inspiring them in the study of the Korean language, history, and culture.

The Dean of YSU Faculty of International Relations, PhD in Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Tigran Yepremyan, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of centering education on linguistics and culture in today’s world.

"We highly value initiatives of this nature, as language learning serves as a bridge connecting diverse cultures. Through the Korean language course, our students have not only acquired linguistic knowledge but also explored a rich cultural heritage. This process deepens mutual understanding between our countries and contributes to strengthening international cooperation. I hope this path will continue, and even more students will participate in such programs," the dean stated.

The honorable guest of the event was Associate Professor Changzoo Song from the Faculty of Arts and Education at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, specializing in Korean and Asian studies. He spoke about the global trends in the spread of the Korean language and the prospects for cultural cooperation with Armenia.
The cultural part of the gathering turned into a unique platform for exploring Korean art. YSU students performed a play based on a Korean fairy tale, recited poems in Korean, and presented traditional songs and dances, demonstrating the linguistic and cultural skills they had acquired. The warm and inspiring atmosphere reflected the students’ engagement and dedication.

At the conclusion of the event, students were awarded certificates of participation on behalf of YSU Faculty of International Relations in recognition of their participation and achievements in the course. The certificates aimed to encourage and acknowledge the students’ language education and their knowledge of Korean culture and history.
Members of the Association of Korean Language Teachers in Armenia, the course instructors, and guests were present at the event. The initiative was also intended to raise awareness about Korea in Armenia and to expand educational and cultural ties.
