Tabibian Family Scholarship recipients on their achievements and goals
Representatives of the Knights of Vartan organization met with the recipients of the Tabibian Family Scholarship at Yerevan State University to discuss the progress of the scholarship program and key topics related to education and professional development.
The Tabibian Family Scholarship Program, implemented by the Knights of Vartan organization, has for several years supported high-achieving students committed to applying their knowledge in the field of high technologies for the benefit of the country's development.
During the meeting, Alexander Markarov, Head of YSU International Cooperation Office, emphasized that mutually beneficial results can be achieved through collaboration, regardless of a program’s scale. According to him, what truly matters is that such initiatives have tangible impact and contribute to the professional growth of students.
Alexander Markarov also addressed YSU’s international ranking position, funding for scientific research, and the key issues in international cooperation, highlighting the unique role that Yerevan State University plays within the global academic and scientific landscape.
Hunan Arshakyan, former Grand Commander of the Knights of Vartan, noted that the organization is continually expanding its initiatives to support young people and promote their professional development. He particularly underscored the importance of students applying the knowledge gained at university toward meaningful goals. During the meeting, he presented certificates to the students who achieved outstanding results and were selected recipients of the Tabibian Family Scholarship for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Five scholarship recipients presented their personal goals and future plans. They spoke not only about their academic achievements but also about their intended career paths. The students emphasized their intention to apply the knowledge acquired at university within Armenia, particularly in the provinces, contributing to local community development.
Gevorg Nersisyan, first-year master’s student at YSU Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics from Ijevan, Tavush Province, said, "I applied for the scholarship because I was admitted to a tuition-based master's program and needed financial support to continue my studies. I aim to strengthen my professional skills, deepen my knowledge, engage in research activities, and gain practical experience. My goal is to work in my field in Tavush in the future. I want to contribute to the development of the province, especially in the tech sector."
Gevorg aspires to teach at YSU Ijevan Branch in the future, sharing his knowledge and experience with others. "Learning from professionals with real-world experience is essential for students to develop practical skills. I’m a programmer and I want to be one of those professionals," he said, expressing his goal to establish a small tech organization in the province. He aims to create opportunities for local students to work and develop their skills within their own communities, eliminating the need to move to Yerevan. This, he believes, will stimulate the growth of the IT sector in Tavush and help local youth find their place in the professional world.
Scholarship recipient Nazeli Sargsyan, who studies at YSU Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, learned about the scholarship opportunity through her university email. She noted, "This is a valuable opportunity for students. I plan to apply the knowledge I’ve gained at YSU here in Armenia."
The event served as a platform to highlight the achievements and goals of the scholarship recipients, emphasizing that the knowledge and experience acquired by students deserve recognition and encouragement—an objective fulfilled by the Tabibian Family Scholarship Program.
