YSU partners in WARIE project selected under Horizon Europe program
The WARIE project (Widening AI Research and Innovation for Excellence in the Eastern Partnership), submitted by Yerevan State University in collaboration with partner organizations, has been selected for funding under the European Commission's prominent Horizon Europe program.
The project aims to bolster scientific research and innovation in artificial intelligence across Eastern Partnership countries by strengthening the capacities of leading universities and research centers in Armenia, Georgia, and Moldova. Within the framework of WARIE, interdisciplinary AI research centers of excellence will be established, with a particular focus on the healthcare and agriculture sectors.
The project is also designed to develop research management systems, empower early-career scientists, and introduce digital infrastructures aligned with Open Science principles. It further seeks to deepen cooperation with leading European universities and research centers.
The 48-month project is backed by a total budget exceeding €4.2 million.
The project unites 13 partner organizations from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and several European countries:
