Science in new format: Podcast series launched at YSU
A new podcast series, Nanophysics and Nanotechnologies, has been launched at Yerevan State University, initiated by the Student Scientific Society of the Institute of Physics with the support of Professor Arshak Vardanyan, Head of the Chair of Condensed Matter Physics. The initiative aims to present science in a more accessible and engaging format, emphasizing that it is not merely a collection of complex formulas and laboratory research, but also a distinctive way of thinking, a culture of inquiry, and a continuous process of discovery.
The podcast series focuses on contemporary fields and key topics in physics. Guests share their professional journeys, discussing their motivations for choosing science, the challenges they have faced, their achievements, and their current work, while also highlighting the vital role of scientists in advancing society.
The initiative is intended not only for students and researchers, but also for school students who are interested in science or who have yet to choose a career. It offers an opportunity for in-depth discussions, allowing audiences to find answers to their questions and to develop their own understanding of science.
The first guest of the podcast was Professor Arshak Vardanyan. During the conversation, he spoke about his academic path and research interests, touching on the role of physics, its most promising areas, and the educational programs offered at the institute.
Professor Vardanyan emphasized that physics is an experimental and multifaceted discipline, noting that success in the field requires strong foundational knowledge, which serves as the basis for conducting complex and significant scientific research.
The podcast episode will be released soon.
