Biodiversity and climate challenges: YSU at the crossroads of scientific cooperation Through the joint initiative of YSU Faculty of Biology and the Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, an international conference titled "Biodiversity, Conservation, and Climate Change" is being held, bringing together more than 100 leading specialists from Armenia, Europe, Arab countries, and South Asia, while also serving as a broad platform for cooperation. The purpose of the conference is not only to present current scientific work in the field but also to promote international cooperation and develop joint solutions to the threats facing biodiversity under climate change conditions.
"One must have genuine interest in learning and also self-actualize outside the academic environment": YSU student on studying abroad Anna Temuryan, a third-year student at YSU Faculty of International Relations, is currently continuing her studies at the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in France through the Erasmus+ program. She notes that besides its main campus in Paris, the institute has regional branches in other cities across France, each specializing in different geographical regions such as Asia, Africa, Western Europe, the Mediterranean, and others.
Focusing on beneficiary voices in social work: University of Bern professor presents at YSU Professor Emanuela Chiapparini of the University of Bern (Switzerland) delivered a lecture at YSU Faculty of Sociology titled "Involving Beneficiaries in Social Work", presenting globally emerging approaches. According to Professor Chiapparini, social work should be grounded not only in the provision of support but also in making the voices of beneficiaries heard.

New treatment methods explored to alleviate symptoms of multiple sclerosis Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system, leading to inflammatory and neurodegenerative changes. The disease is relatively widespread and manifests primarily through symptoms such as double vision, motor difficulties, and memory loss. Associate Professor Anna Karapetyan, Head of the Chair of Human and Animal Physiology at YSU Faculty of Biology, notes that her research team is working to identify new approaches aimed at alleviating the symptoms of multiple sclerosis.
Auditorium named after National Hero Tatul Krpeyan reopened at YSU The reopening ceremony of the auditorium named after National Hero of Armenia Tatul Krpeyan took place at the Faculty of History, Yerevan State University. This initative was realized through collaboration with Armenia Wine Company.
New study aims to promote women's health Associate Professor and Senior Researcher at YSU Faculty of Biology, Inga Bazukyan, emphasizes that cervical cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer globally, with human papillomavirus (HPV) being its primary cause. According to her, HPV-induced cancer is prevalent among the local population, partly due to the fear that HPV vaccination might lead to infertility—an apprehension that leads many to avoid getting vaccinated. Despite the existence of a national HPV vaccination program for women, the incidence of cervical cancer has remained unchanged since 2015. Inga Bazukyan and her research team are currently studying the vaginal microbiome to propose alternative methods for preventing HPV.
