A book donation event was held on September 18 at the Sargis and Marie Izmirlian Library of Yerevan State University, during which Peter Cowe, Professor at the Narekatsi Chair of Armenian Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and the YSU Institute for Armenian Studies donated a new collection of books to the library.
The donation continued the cooperation established during the Gurdjieff Days in Armenia, organized last year at the initiative of the YSU Institute for Armenian Studies and UCLA's Narekatsi Chair of Armenian Studies.
The newly donated publications are an important addition to the university's library holdings and will be available to YSU students, faculty members, researchers and other readers.
The event was attended by YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elina Asriyan, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Rafayel Barkhudaryan, representatives of various university units, as well as guests from the United States and Australia and representatives of academic and cultural circles.
Vahram Petrosyan, Director of the YSU Institute for Armenian Studies, presented the donated publications, discussing their content, scholarly value and significance for university education and research.
It was noted that the continued expansion of the university's library holdings and broader access to literature needed for academic research are of vital importance to YSU researchers and students.
