Giorgi Sharvashidze, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Armenia, delivered a lecture on "Contemporary Georgia" to students at the YSU History Faculty.
Mikayel Hovhannisyan, Vice-Rector for Development and Innovation at YSU, and Mkhitar Gabrielyan, Dean of the History Faculty, emphasized the importance of such events as valuable opportunities for students to deepen their professional knowledge and engage in discussions on relevant topics.
During the lecture, Sharvashidze presented an overview of Georgia's domestic and foreign policy processes, as well as the broader geopolitical developments in the region. He highlighted the main challenges in the South Caucasus concerning security, cooperation, and development, underscoring the importance of regional collaboration.
The lecture was followed by an interactive discussion, allowing students to ask questions and receive the ambassador's insights. Organizers noted that the event provided a valuable opportunity for students to expand their understanding of current regional developments.
At the conclusion of the event, it was stressed that cooperation between the History Faculty and the Georgian diplomatic mission will be expanded in the coming year, opening up opportunities for new educational initiatives.
