14․30-15․30
On October 23, 2025, at 2:30 p.m., YSU Faculty of History will host a presentation by Liana Avetisyan, PhD candidate at the Chair of Armenian History, on the topic "Vardan Areveltsi's Ashkharhatsuyts and Its Significance in Medieval Armenian Historiography".
The report will focus on Vardan Areveltsi’s Ashkharhatsuyts—one of the most important works of medieval Armenian historiography—which contains valuable information on the administrative-territorial changes that took place in Armenia up to the 1270s.
The topic is of particular relevance since Vardan Areveltsi’s Ashkharhatsuyts remains almost unstudied and has the potential to shed new light on several issues in the historical geography of Armenia.
