On November 6, 2025, at 14:30, YSU Faculty of History will host a presentation titled "The Application of Spatial Data in Archaeological and Historical Research (Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing)". The presentation will be delivered by Artyom Ananyan, a postgraduate student of the Chair of Archaeology and Ethnography.
The presentation will focus on the use of modern digital tools—Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing methods—in the analysis of archaeological and historical data. The main approaches to spatial data analysis in the study of cultural landscapes will be presented. The relevance of the topic lies in the integration of spatial modeling methods for the purposes of digitizing and analyzing archaeological and historical data.
