YSU and Institute of Oriental Studies expand scope of cooperation

YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Institute of Oriental Studies Director Gohar Iskandaryan signed a memorandum of cooperation to strengthen ties between the two institutions.

The signing of the memorandum attests to the parties' commitment to developing cooperation in education and research and their readiness to implement joint programs.

The cooperation will cover research and methodological work, regional studies, as well as scientific and educational events. Particular attention will be given to academic mobility, the exchange of best practices and professional development. The parties also intend to leverage each other's expertise and capacities more effectively in areas of mutual interest.   

The cooperation will include mutual peer review of academic publications, as well as the publication, in accordance with established procedures, of joint research findings in the academic journals of the Institute of Oriental Studies and YSU. The parties will also jointly develop textbooks, teaching and methodological materials, and other educational and research works. 

The parties also plan to cooperate on grant-funded and externally financed educational, scientific and research projects. The memorandum also provides for the joint use of scientific information resources, professional and advisory cooperation, as well as the involvement of the two institutions' expert capacities in joint studies, discussions and projects. 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties emphasized that the cooperation will help create a favorable academic environment and develop research-based education aligned with labor market needs.
