Join us at the 3rd International Conference on "The Transformative Economy: Green Transition, Institutional Quality and Value Creation", which will be held on October 7-9, 2026 in the historic city of Yerevan, Armenia.
The conference is organized within the cooperation between the Yerevan State University (YSU), Faculty of Economics and Management, in collaboration with the The Regional Science Academy (TRSA).
The goal of the conference is to provide a platform for the dissemination of innovative research findings, promoting cooperation between researchers, practitioners and policymakers from diverse institutions worldwide. Economies need structural transformations due to the implementation of the global “green” agenda, the tightening of climate policies, as well as the imperative of modernizing governance models. The goal is to explore the role of institutional reforms, and how structural transformations, “green” technologies and sustainable development principles can be effectively integrated into national and regional development policies and ensure a more competitive, inclusive and resilient economic environment by rethinking the mechanisms of value creation.

To analyse low-carbon and climate-resilient development models; assess the economic effects of forming a “green” economic structure; examine biodiversity strategies and the role of the circular economy; and evaluate their impact on sustainable, high-quality economic growth, competitiveness, and spatial balance.
To examine the role of sustainable ecosystem management and nature-based solutions in addressing environmental and socio-economic challenges by enhancing ecosystem resilience, supporting climate change mitigation and adaptation, and promoting inclusive and long-term economic development through the integration of environmental, institutional, and social dimensions.
To explore digital public services, data-driven governance, and modern management tools for improving institutional performance, as well as the role of institutional modernization in ensuring macroeconomic stability, policy effectiveness, and long-term economic development.
To study how different value creation models influence inclusive economic growth; to identify productivity constraints and the causes of deepening social and territorial inequalities; and to integrate the analysis of socio-economic, environmental, and institutional factors into a unified analytical framework.
To encourage collaboration between researchers, policymakers, and sectoral experts in order to identify global and regional challenges and develop integrated, evidence-based solutions for sustainable and resilient development.

The training of economists at YSU started back in 1921. In 1934 a separate faculty was founded, which operated until 1975. 1975-1983 training of economists at YSU was interrupted due to the establishment of the Yerevan Institute of National Economy. After a break of about ten years, in 1984, the faculty was reopened at the university under the name "Economic Cybernetics", then in 1991, it was renamed the Faculty of Economics, and in 2014, the Faculty of Economics and Management.
